How to verify an Arizona ROC license
VerifyBeforeHire is independent. We are not the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Use this site to find the dated snapshot, then finish on roc.az.gov or the official ROC contractor search.
1. Get the license number in writing
Ask for the ROC number and the legal business name on the bid. A first name and a cell number are not enough. If they cannot produce a number, treat that as a stop. See unlicensed contractors.
2. Search the snapshot
Look up the name or number here, or start from the Arizona hub. Check status, class, and city. Use the ZIP finder only as a nearby list, not as proof.
3. Confirm on roc.az.gov
Every profile includes Confirm on official board. That government record is the legal source. This snapshot can lag and is not live authority.
4. Match class to the job
Active is not a workmanship guarantee. A roofing job needs a roofing class. A panel upgrade needs electrical. A whole-home remodel usually needs a general. Hire only if status is active for the right classification.
